The Tater Family Travelling Circus was formed in 2009 in the foothills of North Carolina's Appalachian Mountains. Calling Shelby, North Carolina, their home, the band was assembledby singer/ songwriter, Luke Edwards, in an effort to continue refining and completing material he'd been working on for ten years in a previous project. With plenty of bands in Appalachian North Carolina carrying the torch of traditional roots music, the Tater Family Travelling Circus chose instead to take the influences of the area's traditional music and fuse them with the burgeoning new wave of Southern Rock to create a sound dubbed as "Hi-Test Hillbilly". TFTC consists of Luke Edwards on lead vocal and guitar, Ashley Conine on Guitar and Harmonica, Jonathan Bowling on Bass, and Corbett Richards on drums and percussion. After nearly three years of steady gigging in the Southeastern US, TFTC finally took a short break in 2012 to record their debut effort, "Curiosities". Released on the fledgling North Carolina label, Punky Dunk Records, "Curiosities" is a collection of twelve original Tater Family Travelling Circus tunes, recorded and co-produced by the amazing Chris Garges (Mitch
Easter, Don Dixon, Arthur Smith, David Childers, and others) at Old House Studio in Gastonia, North Carolina. The songs on "Curiosities" run the gamut, from stripped-down acoustic pieces offering a tip of the hat to North Carolina's Bluegrass history, all the way to full-tilt rockers! TFTC has wasted no time getting back to what they do best - playing live! Getting back on the road for the remainder of 2012 and gearing up for a busy 2013, TFTC is ready to deliver "Hi-Test Hillbilly" to the masses! Come join The Circus!
